Memories of Lilacs

I sent the large bouquet of lilacs to my sister who lives about 800 miles away. I haven’t seen her in years. She’s been home health caring for her husband for the last five years. They’ve been married for 40 years . Her life has been extremely stressful as she has no help. I thought the card would make her smile. I wrote in the lilac card …remember when… we were young and lived in PA, we had three beautiful lilac bushes in our backyard. In the spring, our mom would cut a bunch and put them on the table in the kitchen and the whole room smelled great. When she called me , she sounded truly happy for a moment. She has no time for herself so she called me from inside the car at the car wash! No that’s using your time creatively. She loved the bouquet and said that they looked so real. She also had the same fond memories of the lilac bushes. We now live in CA. No lilac bushes here.
