Envelope is not waterproof

Recipients got waterlogged Freshcut cards. It rained on the east coast around the Easter holiday. It was to large to fit in mailslot so postal worker set it outside the door in the rain.
Would be nice if envelopes/packaging was weatherproof for safe mailing. The recipient got a soggy paper mess.
